Funeral of freedom fighter Saifuddin with state dignity
Funeral of Saifuddin Mohammad (88), in-charge of Ratoil Muktijoddha Camp in Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj has been completed with state dignity.
He died at his residence in Ratoil village on Saturday (September 12) at 8 pm. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.
He was buried at the family graveyard on Sunday (September 13) at 11am after a state-level janaza at Ratoil Madrasa.
During the great war of liberation in 1971, a freedom fighter camp was set up at Saifuddin Mohammad’s house in Ratoil village. At that time Saifuddin Mohammad Ratoil was in charge of the freedom fighter camp. The freedom fighters of Gopalganj, Madaripur, Narail, Faridpur and Jessore districts took part in various important battles including Bhatiapara and Fukra. At that time he was the general secretary of Ratil Union Awami League. He was once elected chairman of the Ratoil Union. Besides, he was a founding member of Kashiani Upazila Awami League.
